A Wedding Channel

Oh my goodness.
Cablevision has just signed on for a TV channel with 24/7  wedding programming. Shows like Bridezillas and Amazing Cakes will be featured. I know I love watching Bridezillas mainly because I've seen such bad behavior in other brides. Seeing things like planning your own bachelorette party or making bridesmaids gain /lose weight actually happens in real life - not just on this outrageous TV show.

Anyway, I envision the channel being perfect for rainy Saturdays or late nights when your fiancé is watching some ridiculous show you can't stand like 24. We don't have a second TV so it wouldn't apply to us in our itty bitty NYC apartment. The network hasn't confirmed a launch date so it might not launch before our May 2010 Wedding.

A Lost Art {Handwritten Notes}

I sent out a few notes yesterday. And you might not know about this but,  I'm big on cards...
Thank You Cards
Birthday Cards
Congratulations Cards
Baby Cards
Just a Note Card
... you get the picture.

Imagine how thrilled I was when I got a Thank You Note a few weeks ago from Carol Hannah. She was the amazing stylist who sold me my dress at Wedding Atelier. It was just so sweet and unexpected.
ps. Some of you might be getting one of the fabulous cards above. So get excited :)

Videographers {Pass or Play II}

amber + jordan's sde // stoney creek ON from StillMotion on Vimeo.

I'm in love with the videos from Still Motion. We aren't having a videographer but I still love watching random strangers' weddings. The love is always there and really that's what the day is about.

Save The Date {Trial and Error}

I probably won't post my actual Save the Dates until after I'm sure that everyone has gotten them. But here's a draft that's been ruled out. Zack thinks that the pattern is too girly. Which it might be a little bit but I still sort of love them. It's my first go around with them anyway so thoughts are welcome.
The typeface is various weights of Gotham. Probably not a surprise to most people. It's a typeface we used a lot in UM publications and I'm still a bit stuck on it.

Fabulous Flower Friday {Ranunculus}

via{flickr}
I'm starting to think about flowers for our wedding. We are leaning towards an orange and green flower scheme as a nod to the University of Miami where we met.  For the next few weeks I'll be featuring flowers we are considering that meet our requirements which are pretty basic- color and time of bloom. We'll figure out the pricing as we go as it will probably also impact our decision.

The Real Bride of New Jersey?

One of my best friends shared this link with me today. I have a bit of an obsession with those New Jersey Housewives so I though I'd pass it on to you ladies who might share in it.

Must See Move {The Hangover}

I can only hope Zack and his guys have this much fun at his bachelor party. The movie is hysterical, I can't remember the last time a movie made me laugh so hard. Go see it ASAP. The shots from the actual wedding are gorgeous. But I can't seem to track down any photos from it.

Ceremony Decor

I've been thinking a lot about how to make our ceremony site standout. It's really pretty on it's own but I want to add just a little something. I love the look of chinese lanterns and pomanders - but I just feel like they've worn their welcome. Honestly, they are in every wedding magazine out there. With our wedding day still being a year out I feel like they will be even more passĂ©. I'll keep thinking about it, in the meantime if you have any ideas let me know.

Anyone else planning a 2010 Wedding worried about staying ahead of the trends?

Home.

I hated growing up in a small town... I always felt like there was something more out there for me. I moved away to a big city {Miami} and then to a bigger city {NYC}

Now I hate living in a place where you can't see the stars at night, where peonies don't grow in yards but are sold at bodegas,  and where more people live in apartment buildings than my hometown.

I might love laying in my old bed staring up at my glow in the dark stars when I'm home-
but there is nothing like the cab ride back from LGA to my apartment.

A Wedding RAOK {Only in NYC}

I'm headed out of town for my baby sister's graduation. I'll be back on Sunday... enjoy the weekend ladies and gents :)
